I've always used the average $20 dollar blow-dryer. I have a lot of fine-textured, wavy hair, about medium-long length. Blow drying my hair has always been a time consuming, tiring chore, because I use a big round brush to straighten and give volume. Well, with this dryer, I no longer need as much time and exertion to straighten my hair. This dries it much quicker and leaves it silkier, not dried out.
The extra money spent, I see as an investment on a quality tool to help me maintain my expensive cut and color.
Con: not exactly a light weight tool

This dryer is a game changer. It is so powerful that I got a tangle in my hair the first time I used it. I was surprised that its not extremely hot... it just blows really powerfully so it dries your hair very quickly. Your hair ends up really smooth, like you came from the hair dresser. I save at least 5 minutes a day compared to my previous, non-pro hair dryer, which in itself is worth the extra $.

You know how it goes - you get your hair done at the salon, and it looks amazing, and then you can't duplicate it at home. Well, now i know WHY, it's because I didn't have a proper blow dryer? I am 45 years old, and up until I got this blow dryer i thought, 'it's just hot air, how could a $100 blow dryer be better than a $10 one?" But it IS! I don't know if it's the power of the motor, or somehow the air is more concentrated, but damn if my hair doesn't look more amazing, and actually feels less damaged than using my $10 blow dryer!

just wanted to finally write a review, I bought this hair dryer in 2007 and it is still going strong! My hair feels great every time, the dryer has not lost power or anything, that's 9 years, which is an awesome ROI. I can highly recommend it.
